Frequently Asked Questions
Why does this extension need access to all my site data?
In order to extract images from a web page, Image Downloader needs access to all the content on that web page. Rest assured, no data leaves your computer. For more information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
Why did this extension download smaller images than I expected? Why did it miss some images?
Image Downloader can only extract the images that are currently visible on the page. This means that it may not capture full-resolution images or images that are loaded dynamically. We are constantly working to improve this functionality to provide a better user experience.

Does exactly what it says, lets you download <img> and background:image items from a webpage.
To those who complain that "it doesn't work":
Your browser is not compatible likely because you are not using chrome (trying to use it from a chomium browser that is older) or not using the latest chrome, or your internet connection is filtered. Many *newer* browsers still use an older chromium engine. This means not compatible so of course it wouldn't work. Also schools and other public places often filter out what can be requested from a site (and how) because that's how parental filters work, they block direct requests for objects that aren't directly allowed. So don't expect it to bypass security protectiton on public networks. Also NO EXTENSION can work with non-website pages (eg; pages whose url doesn't start with "http") That is a chrome thing, and not this extension's fault either. I've tested it extensively for a very long time and it works fine for me (unless I did something I listed above).
To those who complain about permissions:
Of course it needs READ permissions to read site data from a webpage. It also need CHANGE permissions to: 1) write image data to your hard disk, 2) manipulate the page to filter out data and for its own menu which is like all extensions simply another "page". and 3) to resize images before saving them.... you have to have change permissions to do all that. Rather than ask why it is needed just go look at the source..oh and actually learning what permissions *are* would probably be a real good idea too because a lot of people seem to think they mean "go install a virus on my facebook page" which it clearly does not, not that it is possible to do that from an extension anyway (hello, sandboxed!).
I assure you this extension is safe and a must-have part of my toolbox. There is nothing "worrying" about it, it does its job, and deserves a higher rating. I give it 5/5.
